As this school year comes to a close, it marks my second year in Stamford. While maintaining most of the good things we were already doing, this year also saw more new things that we began trying. The teachers and students have risen to the occasion each time and I hope that we have met our intentions of enriching the Stamford learning experience.
I am also grateful that I was able to visit Reggio Emilia in Italy this month. To see the embodiment of what many educators believe about a learning and learner centred environment is beyond fascinating. Conversations with our North American counterparts at this study tour were refreshing. Of course, I also enjoyed the sights and food of Reggio Emilia and also Frankfurt.
With the long Liburan (Fasting Month) holiday coinciding with the year-end break, I am looking forward to the longer than usual holiday back home.
