This is one of the highlights of this school year - Play and Give. A synergy of project presentations (students designed game booths for a family-friendly fun fair), fund raiser for charity and an open house. The students shone brilliantly after their weeks of hardwork and the teachers supporting and polishing. Just 4 short hours but a good essence of what the school is all about. I am delighted and thankful.
You cannot see the complete picture which spells out DAGO. That's the main road that runs near where I stay and gives this area it's name. There is also a stretch in Dago that has many factory outlets which is also closed on car-free Sunday mornings. Took this picture when I took a rather long walk on a Saturday morning. My legs ached after that walk.
Recently I have been doing quite a few design projects. This is one if them for a bag we have for Children's Day. I only got to write-in my name recently. It also features the redux version of the school badge which we now use for our JC uniform. The words come from the school's tagline - Every Stamfordian an aspiring leader.
For Play and Give, I designed the logo, the flyer which was based in a word-search game, the ragland t-shirt with the flyer design on its back, the tickets and the microsite. Rather happy with the work, and all done using just PowerPoint. All done out of necessity. Not sure I am all that good at it. Though I did enjoy the process.
Alongside the game stalls, we also showcased the interdisciplinary projects of the primary 1 to 4. Their theme was photography. We created these exhibition panels, put the photos in beautiful frames (some 90 of them) and even had QR codes that featured audio clips of the students talking about their works. Beautiful presentation I would say.
Amongst the stalls designed by the students, one that stood out was Chromashot in which people get to have their photos superimposed on all sorts of background. Not sure mine was the most imaginative but it was a simple and fun stall. Of course the other stalls displayed a good variety of ideas too. Kudos to my students for their imaginative creativity.
